This section is divided into two parts:
- The first one includes some relevant reports
published in the last few years about the potential health
hazards of electromagnetic fields;
- The second one presents useful booklets and
fact sheets to improve one's knowledge about the subject.

Reports
For the last 6 years, some national and international
organisations have published important reports about the possible
health effects of electromagnetic fields. Below you will find some
links to abstracts of these reports (as well as their complete contents
when available).

Abstract: This report reflects the evaluation
of current scientific data and concludes that : "There is no
valid basis for thinking that exposure to extremely-low-frequency
electromagnetic fields can cause Parkinson's disease, and only very
weak evidence to suggest that it could cause Alzheimer's disease.
The evidence that people employed in electrical occupations have
an increased risk of developing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is
substantially stronger, but this could be because they run an increased
risk of having an electric shock, rather than being due to long
term exposure to the fields per se".
* Since 1 April 2005, the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) has become the Agency's Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards, the new Radiation Protection Division of the Health Protection Agency (HPA)

Abstract: This booklet explains
the basic principles of EMF, provides an overview of the results
from major research studies, and summarizes conclusions from the
various expert review panels that have examined the scientific evidence
regarding exposure to EMF and health effects. This booklet was originally
printed in 1995 as part of the EMF RAPID Program. After completion
of the program, the booklet was updated to include the results from
the EMF RAPID Program as well as the results of recent major research
studies and various expert panel reviews.
